We are working on exciting plans to bring a 3Dprinting FabLab to the region. We have even been experimenting with chocolate printing at STEAMhouse!
What is a FabLab?
A FabLab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering (personal) digital fabrication (Wikipedia).
A FabLab is generally equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make “almost anything”. This includes technology-enabled products generally perceived as limited to mass production.
The FabLab movement is closely aligned with the ‘Do-It-Yourself’ movement, and shares the philosophy of sharing technology and knowledge in order to grow innovation.
There will be 3 ways for you to engage with the Avatar FabLab:
- Build your own 3d printer with Ingenium kit.
- Learn your own 3D printing procsss.
- 3D print with chocolate and clay.
Watch this space! In the meantime, learn a little more about our Ingenium kit.
